Services
Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.3 million members globally. In 1925, Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness". Since then, Lions clubs everywhere have worked tirelessly to aid the blind and visually impaired.

Vision
A driving mission for Lions International has been providing services for the blind, promoting vision health, conducting eye research, and offering vision and health screenings. In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions International to be Knights of the Blind, and since accepting that responsibility, Lions have been the global leader in supporting these programs.

Diabetes
Diabetes is the number one cause of preventable blindness in the United States. Through research support, community outreach and education, health screenings, and support programs, Lions serve to reduce the scourge of diabetes in people’s lives.
Massachusetts is home to the world leaders in changing the pathology of this disease.

Environment
The environment affects everyone and Lions, through their community action, work for environmental preservation and restoration that affects people’s lives.

Disaster Relief
Because Lions are organized as community-based service groups, Lions are among the first to respond to natural and man-made disasters, providing immediate aid to those in need and offering longer-term assistance for recovery.
Lions Clubs International Foundation is a critical element of providing an immediate response for disaster relief.

Childhood Cancer
Coping with cancer profoundly affects many lives, with scary and daunting challenges. This is particularly true when cancer afflicts children. Lions are committed to helping support children and their families coping with cancer.

Hunger
Hunger and food insecurity affect many communities, even when unseen.
Through food drives and banks and partnerships with community groups and resources, Lions serve to alleviate hunger and community food insecurity.

Youth
Through many developmental and support programs, Lions serve to make a difference in children’s lives. This service includes the Lions International Peace Poster and Essay Contest, Lions Quest development program, scholarships, community youth programs in athletics, music and civic service, youth camps, and mentorships.

Humanitarian
Helping someone and a community in need is one of the greatest expressions of compassion. Lions are driven to provide assistance to alleviate the needs people face everywhere. Where there is a need, there is a Lion.
Our passion for eye health drives us to believe that we can make a difference, define a brighter future, and change lives through our work in eye research and awareness.
Our Mission
The Malden Lions Club is an active member of the Malden community, supporting education initiatives and youth activities, as well as partnering with other community organizations. We support the Mass Lions Eye Research Fund, established to find a cure for retrolental fibroplasia or premature baby blindness, among other non-profits.
The Malden Lions serve their community with eye and health screenings, food drives, park cleaning, scholarships, and support of many community partner groups. The Malden Lions improve the lives of city residents and others around the world.
